Electromagnetic Compatibility Society – 7:00PM, Wednesday, 22 April – Social Hour at 6:00PM.
Scott Piper, General Motors, International Distinguished Lecturer for the EMC Society
Verifying numerical modeling results using measurements– Measurements have been trusted and relied upon for many years. This presentation focuses on some of the advantages of using measurements to verify simulation results, but also it will show that measurements have weaknesses of their own which is where simulations can help! Real experiences will be shared with the chapter about Scott’s experience on this subject.
Scott Piper received a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan Dearborn. Scott has a combined 10 years of experience in the military/aerospace and the automotive industries focusing on electromagnetic compatibility compliance design and testing. Scott has been the primary engineer responsible for the initial purchase and implementation of electromagnetic modeling tools for EMC in two corporations. Scott currently works at General Motors where he is a global resource for electromagnetic simulation for EMC. Scott is a member of the IEEE and the EMC society and is classified as an IEEE Young Professional. Scott’s interests are EMC simulation, measurement, and test methods.
The meeting of the EMC Society will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Bose Corp., 100 The Mountain Road, Framingham, MA.
