Crosstalk is one of key limiters for link performance, especially for high-speed data rates. It can also be costly in design to mitigate crosstalk impact. In this presentation, crosstalk coupling mechanisms in high speed interconnect design will be introduced for single ended and differential signals. Various crosstalk mitigation techniques will be discussed including shielding, separation, inductive/capacitive coupling adjustment, crosstalk cancellation, pin-out arrangement, PCB via management, etc. Crosstalk mitigation design examples will be given as well in this presentation.
