IEEEBos Jan 2017 Digital Reflector

January Editorial

This month’s editorial is from our new Chair of the IEEE Boston Section, Len Long. The Boston Section is the most active of IEEE Sections; holding multiple conferences, courses, and more than 35 society chapters and affinity groups.

New Chapter formed in Boston!

Technology and Engineering Management Society has formed a local chapter and is growing quickly. TEMS is holding its first meeting this month covering Virtual Teams in Engineering Projects: Managing Complexities, Expectations and Cultural Factors Successfully.

Homeland Security Symposium

Homeland Security Symposium, its 16th annual event, is coming in late April. Book your travel and hotel as soon as possible. The Key Note Speaker is Kay Goss, CEM, President of World Disaster Management, LLC.

High Performance Extreme Computing

HPEC ‘17, in its 21st year, is hosting a Call for Papers for the September 2017 conference. Submission deadline is May 19, 2017. More information is at IEEE-HPEC.Org.

Call for Instructors

If you think you have an idea for a course, or would like to teach one that you’ve done before, let’s talk about it. We may be the platform for you! We offer live and online courses for technologists and management. We can help you put your course together or put the structure around it so you can easily teach it to the public.

Call for Technical Articles

The Digital Reflector is, of course, all digital, which means that we have an opportunity to include technical articles for publication that would be of interest to our members and local technology community.
