This presentation overview will provide the basis in selection of the type of transformer to be used (liquid filled transformer or dry type transformer) depending on the application requirements. A selection guide for the different types of dry type transformers themselves (VPI, VPE, Cast, and other dry type technologies available in the market) will also be presented. The presentation will conclude with some of the new emerging technologies of dry transformers being offered in the market space today that you may not be aware of.

Biography:

Kevin Eaton is the Sales and Marketing Manager for SGB-USA (subsidiary of the SGB-SMIT Group) for the North American Dry Type Transformer division. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology and over 21 years of experience in the electrical field between his time as a certified electrician (journeyman / wireman) and the manufacturing side of the electrical industry. His experience within the electrical field includes Elec-Tech Electrical Services, Square D / Schneider Electric, ABB, and presently SGB-USA. His area of expertise includes NEC codes and standards, quality assurance, supply chain management, product application, sales, product development and production, marketing and commercial operations. He is a member of the IEEE PES chapter in Nashville TN.
