Speaker: Gene Moir, Staff Electrical Engineer, Doosan Fuel Cell America

Fuel cell technology has been around for over a century and is mostly viewed as a new and expensive technology, nothing could be further from the truth. Hundreds of megawatts of fuel cell technology have been deployed across the globe. Our installations cover a multitude of market segments including, C&I, multi-family, government, and utility scale. Fuel cells are a non-combustible distributed energy resource that are a cleaner, cheaper, and more reliable alternative to the grid. Utilizing the waste heat stream, overall system efficiency can reach 90%. Rising electric costs combined with state incentives in MA & CT, and air permit exemptions make fuel cell deployment an extremely attractive option compared to traditional CHP. Please join us for a discussion on technical implementation, lessons learned and a view of the current market landscape.

Biography: Gene Moir has been with Doosan Fuel Cell America for 5 years in various roles: electrical engineering, field support and as a product development lead. Mr. Moir was involved in the electrical design and verification of the second-generation fuel cell product line and is currently working with his team on various design changes for the product. He has presented at the Doosan Tech Forum in South Korea and holds a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelors in Economics and Finance from the University of Hartford.
